Janet Reynolds is a high-level professional at Verizon, where she deals with accounts using cutting edge technology for global communications.

A lifelong resident of Roselle, Janet is the daughter Calvert & Carole Reynolds, a pharmacist & retired director of Special Education. She inherited the ability to help people in their time of need from her parents.
Reynolds began assisting her parents in numerous charitable organizations, including leadership roles on the Youth Council & 4-H of Union County.
Reynolds was elected in 2000 to her local Board of Education, where she served on numerous committees. Appointed to the Roselle Planning Board in 2005, Reynolds is in her 3rd year as chair.
As Chairwoman of the Roselle Planning Board, Janet Reynolds saw the need to revitalize her home town.  Therefore, two needs assessment studies were conducted to identify areas in need of redevelopment.
Currently near completion of an unprecedented reconstruction of the Master Plan, Reynolds prepares her hometown to move forward with pertinent projects. She is certified in land use law and planning by the state of New Jersey.
Janet Reynolds is the founder & director of a mentoring group for girls age 10-18. Thru mentoring they encouraged to make wise choices in life and that it is never too late to turn a negative situation around.
Through her work with charitable organizations and government experiences, Reynolds is equipped with the knowledge to move Union County forward.
As a member of the Union County Board of Freeholders, Reynolds plans to concentrate on youth & family services and achieve a reduction in the county portion of property tax bills by lowering county spending.
She wants to reduce the financial stress upon Union County families caused by high taxes, while building on the existing improvements in parks, education, economic development & senior services.
Reynolds holds a BA in Psychology and is certified in Industrial Organizational Psychology.
Employed by Verizon communications for the past 15 years, were she serves as a CWA 1023 union steward, Reynolds is ready to roll up her sleeves to get to work for Union County residents.

Elcy Castillo-Ospina

Elcy Castillo-Ospina, an Elizabeth resident for over 30 years, was selected as New Jersey school social worker of the year.

Elcy Castillo-Ospina, an Elizabeth resident for over 30 years, was selected as New Jersey school social worker of the year.
Elected to her first term in 2009, Elcy Castillo-Ospina is the first person of Colombian heritage to serve on the Elizabeth Board of Education.
Castillo-Ospina possesses a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature and has continued to pursue her education, having 27 credits towards a Masters of Arts in Special/Bilingual Education.
Elcy uses her educational experiences on a daily basis as a Child Study Team School Social Worker at the Bayonne Board of Education.
Castillo-Ospina is a member of the New Jersey Education Association, the New Jersey Association of School Social Workers, and the New Jersey Early Intervention Task Force.
Her other interests include soccer, which she participates in by serving as the Coordinator of New Jersey Kid Safe Youth Soccer. She also is licensed as a New Jersey Youth Soccer Coach.
As a certified Megan’s Law coordinator for the Union County Prosecutor’s Office, Castillo-Ospina provides information about sex offenders to coaches so our children can sport of soccer in a safe environment.
