Hosting a house party is a great way to introduce our candidates to more voters, share important reasons why Democrats for Change deserve support and collect vital funds that are necessary to help wage this campaign.

If you can host a house party, please arrange a Democrats for Change candidate as a guest speaker by sending an email to houseparty@njdems.com or call 732-340-1980. Once you set a date & time, use this checklist to make sure your event comes off without a hitch!

2 Weeks from Event
• Secure event location
• Place ads in community newspapers & social network sites
• Send postcards to community leader list and voters in the area

1 Week from Event
• Distribute fliers to area shops, post offices, libraries, etc.
• Assign volunteers to assist with set-up, refreshments, sign-in, photos, etc.
• Prepare handouts and collect brochures, maps, etc.
• Prepare sign-in sheets, contribution forms

1-2 Days before Event
• Reminder calls to invitees

Day of Event
• Sign-in sheets / Nametags
• Presentation from website or guest speaker
• Member and/or staff business cards
• Pens/pencils/notepads
• Refreshments, if not held at restaurant
• Digital camera to upload images or video

Day after Event
• Send thank-you letters to attendees, helpers, hosts, and media
• Send guest list, donations, etc. to campaign headquarters
